OUR BOARD

The Path of the Horse is a Registered Charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. All proceeds stay with the Charity to support our clients, horses and operations.

Our Board of Directors

As a registered Charity, we are governed by a Board of Directors.

The Board's primary role is to set the Strategic Vision of The Path of the Horse, oversee its careful implementation, and ensure compliance with all Australian laws and relevant legislation.

Kyle Tyrrell 
Chairman of The Board

Kyle is a retired Lieutenant Colonel with 24 years of service, including multiple overseas deployments. He brings extensive leadership experience in global security risk management, having served as the former CEO of Vanguard Global Security Risk Management and as the Director of Counter-Terrorism and Vice President of Middle East and North Africa at the National Safety Agency.

A highly sought-after consultant in High Performance and Leadership, Kyle holds a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), a Masters of Business Administration (International Management), and a Graduate Diploma of Strategy. Currently studying Psychology, he operates a highly effective and respected Leadership Business, Kyle Tyrell High-Performance Leadership kyletyrrell.com.au
 
Beyond his professional pursuits, Kyle enjoys the outdoors, traveling, Australian Rules Football (an avid Carlton FC fan), and serving the Veteran community. His wealth of experience significantly contributes to The Path of the Horse, guiding us in setting and achieving our Strategic Plan as a Charity. Kyle leads our other Directors, Mr. Robert Miller, Mr. Tony Pack, and Mr. Dean Mighell, in their Director roles.

Robert Miller

Rob served full-time and part-time in the Infantry between 1998 and 2014, Deploying to East Timor in 2000 and the Solomon Islands in 2007.


Outside the Army Rob also served in Corrections, and developed a career in business where he is currently the CFO of Community Care Chemist.


With 16 years of Military service under his belt, Rob is passionate about ensuring the best possible opportunities for Veterans & First Responders

DEAN MIGHELL
Registered Psychotherapist (Gestalt), Equine Assisted Learning and Psychotherapy Practitioner (EAP).

Dean is a proud recipient of the prestigious National Australian Equine Therapist of the Year Award from Animal Therapies Australia.

Dean holds a Post Graduate Certification as a Psychotherapist (Gestalt) and has undergone extensive training in trauma, indigenous men’s trauma practice (We-Ali), mindfulness, Neurodiversity ADHD and Autism (Kings College London), and related conditions. He is a proud member of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) and the International Institute for Complementary Therapies (IICT).

Dean's dedication extends to his work with military and emergency service workers and their families impacted by Post Traumatic Stress Injury and related conditions. His contributions in this area are highly respected within the veteran community.

Mindfulness is a cornerstone of Dean’s therapeutic approach. He employs a holistic and somatic methodology to support his clients.
